95 Days To Go!

Kyle and Carly met online in 2014, after Kyle messaged Carly to flirtatiously discuss their shared interest in music. Despite having pretty different tastes in music - Kyle, with his hard rock and metal; and Carly, with K-pop, classical, and pretty much anything BUT metal - they were both smitten.

It was on their first date that they discovered that they only worked about a street apart, like trains in the night passing each other. After a very special first date together, Kyle continued to visit Carly at work on his lunch break.

Only a month into their meeting, they decided to take a trip to Universal in Orlando, and to see Chevelle at the House of Blues. While there, they made their relationship official in the most classic "Kyle" way: a message sent from across the room asking: "Will you be my girlfriend?"

Kyle also was in the process of looking to move, and with his sister they purchased a home in Venice, only a few minutes from where Carly lived. That became a home-away-from-home, where Carly would stay to be with Kyle almost every night. Since then, they've been inseparable.

Over the years, Carly and Kyle have supported each other in their interests, taking trips and visiting venues they perhaps never would have gone to under other circumstances. Kyle, for instance, began to cosplay at comic conventions, while Carly learned to headbang and has her own heavy metal bands she follows now. They would influence and inspire one another for 10 years before Kyle would ask the next most important question.

Before that, one of the first big trials they faced was when Kyle supported Carly through a cancer diagnosis in late 2019, being her biggest champion. Their love, and a little surgery, helped them get through this scary ordeal together.

And as the years have passed, both have suffered the loss of a parent, Linda Hewitt and Michael Dufficy, as well as one of their beloved pets, Pippin. The struggle of these losses has been difficult for them both, but together they have persevered through it all.

It was on their tenth anniversary that they took a trip to Universal Studios Orlando, where their journey started. On November 5th, 2024, Kyle finally asked that big question, overlooking the skyline of the various parks from 15 stories up. The only thing that would have made the night perhaps even more perfect would have been if they had seen Babymetal at the Hard Rock - a band that combines two of their initial musical preferences, which is what first brought them together. But while they didn't see the show, they celebrated their late-night engagement with a trip to the bar at the Hard Rock anyway.

Kyle and Carly are excited to finally take the next step in their lives to be married, and are excited to share their day of celebration with their friends and families.
